The Thetford region is a territory covered in wetlands forming ecosystems favourable for the observation of a great quantity of birds. Note that 251 species of birds have been observed in the region thus far.
The best times for bird observation are early mornings and evenings in the months of May through August.
This new circuit is composed of 17 natural sites throughout the Appalaches territory, with the exception of 2 sites located on the region's periphery. The ornithology guide, which includes a card of the circuit, also presents for each site the following information: a picture, coordinates, GPS localization, site characteristics, observable species and services close-by. This handy guide is available at all of Quebec's ornithology clubs, at Thetford's tourism office and at Unimat Renovation Center located on route 112 in Thetford Mines.
