In a few words

The Historic Center of the King | KB3 Mine, part of the historic cradle of the first three mines of magnet in Canada, offers visitors three completely renovated buildings in which a course lasting approximately one hour and thirty hours is set up. The tour begins in the Forge building. It presents the vast territory occupied by asbestos mines within the MRC des Appalaches. Thereafter, the functions of the forge in the mining industry are discovered in more detail. The visit continues in the Treuils building. The imposing machinery is always present, and visitors will see the meticulous work and the importance of the operator of the winches. The tour ends with the Chevalement. It will show the different stages that workers had to do before and after their shift. Visitors will then be able to visit the observatory to view the 360-degree view of the town of Thetford Mines.
