In a few words

The economy of the Municipality of Kinnear's Mills is based primarily on maple syrup production and agriculture. The latter, in addition to milk production, gives rise to a variety of farms, including red deer, rabbits, pigs and laying hens. Orchards and horticultural greenhouses complete the picture of this diversified agriculture.

In addition, a renowned campsite allows the municipality to double the number of its residents during the summer.

HISTORY:
By the end of the 1870s, Kinnear's Mills was the natural center of a municipality of nearly 1,800 inhabitants and covered the entire township of Leeds. In addition to the Kinnear mills, the village then had several blacksmiths, shoemakers, carpenters and tailors, a general store, a post office, a doctor and a resident pastor. In 1901, there were even three stores, a hotel and a cheese factory.

With the start of the 20th century, Kinnear's Mills saw its vocation as a rural municipality confirmed. A vocation that it has retained until today, even if an increasingly large proportion of its working population now works outside the limits of the municipality. In 2013, Kinnear's Mills had 372 residents.
